How To Measure Blood Plasma Protein in Small Animals with a Refractometer.

We seek a digital refractometer to measure blood protein in small mammals. What is the minimum volume required for your VETMED01 model?

Yes!  You can use  our Veterinary Refractometer -VETMED01 , which is a handheld digital device, to measure small animal blood protein.  This device can also be used for other fluids such as dog or cat urine and can measure specific gravity.

The minimum practical fluid volume for the Palm Abbe VETMED01 refractometer, or any Palm Abbe digital refractometer, is approximately 0.3 ml (0.01 fluid ounces). This fluid volume applies equally to small animal blood plasma protein or other fluids such as dog or cat urine.
