Abbe Mark II Plus Digital Abbe Refractometer Entry Level Abbe Refractometer is Mainstay of Industrial & Academic Laboratories for Over Two Decades The time-proven consistency and dependability of the Abbe Mark II Plus Refractometer makes it one of the most widely accepted laboratory refractometers for demanding industries including pharmaceutical, food and beverage, petrochemical and manufacturing. The Abbe Mark II Plus bench-top refractometer is a transmitted light refractometer that has been a mainstay of laboratories and universities for more than two decades. It differs from our other bench-top refractometers based on the method of reading. A transmitted light refractometer measures the light that passes through the sample as opposed to the light reflected off a surface of a fluid. A transmitted light refractometer, like the Abbe Mark II Plus, will allow the user to view the actual shadow line and manually adjust for color dispersion. Transmitted light refractometers are preferable for some applications involving transparent, translucent, and semi-translucent liquids and solids that are difficult to measure on other types of refractometers. The full range Brix scale of Abbe Mark II Plus Refractometer, coupled with a refractive index range from 1.3000 to 1.7000, makes the refractometer useful for a nearly unlimited number of applications. The Mark II Plus provides digital readouts at the touch of a button and automatically compensates for temperature in the Brix reading mode. In most cases, the temperature compensation eliminates the need for thermometers, water baths and correction charts. The actual prism temperature of the Abbe Mark II Plus Refractometer can also be displayed for convenient reference. The Mark II Plus Refractometer features three direct read digital scales: Refractive Index, Brix (% solids), Temperature Compensated Brix (% Solids), as well as an electronic prism temperature readout. The temperature probe is mounted in the prism and is accurate to +/- 0.1°C. The built-in illumination system on the Abbe Mark II Plus Refractometer is easy to adjust for obtaining the best shadow line and dispersion adjustment. A focusing eyepiece makes the reticle easy to read. The Abbe Mark II Plus also has a RS-232-C data port for data transfer to a personal computer. Note: The Abbe Mark II has been manufactured by American Optical, Cambridge Instruments, Reichert-Jung, and Leica. The Abbe Mark II Plus is currently manufactured by Recihert, Inc. Technical Support All we sell are refractometers; they are not just catalog items to us. We use these instruments in our own laboratory on a daily basis. This helps make MISCO the establishd industry leader in refractive index measurement.
