Abbe Max(tm) AMAX10 Digital Laboratory Refractometer The New Wave of Refractometers From the groundbreaking use of the Microsoft Windows CE (R) Operating System to the distinctive "wave" styling of their sturdy enclosures, the newly announced Abbe Max family of refractometers represents a bold New Wave in bench-top refractometers. Combining the power of an Intel microprocessor with the Windows graphical user-interface and precision optics has produced one of the most powerful, yet easy-to-use, refractometers available. The striking design and the innovative features of the Abbe Max family illustrate MISCO’s pride in producing high-quality precision instrumentation. The unique MISCO Abbe Max family of refractometers is characterized by its power, precision, and performance. Power Abbe Max is the first refractometer in the world to take full advantage of Microsoft Windows Operating System, providing unrivaled performance and a refined set of easy-to-use features. Thanks to the blistering speed and muscle of an Intel (R)computer microprocessor at the heart of the instrument and to the user-friendly Microsoft Windows CE Operating System, Abbe Max is one of the most powerful, yet convenient-to-use, laboratory refractometers ever made.
Absolute Precision "Absolute Precision" is precision for real-world testing and represents the actual precision a user will be able to duplicate in the field, not just theoretical precision obtainable under perfectly controlled laboratory conditions. The AMAX10 is the standard-precision model with absolute rock-solid precision of +/-0.0001 refractive index ("nD") between 1.3330 and 1.5800 nD, or +/-0.1 Brix precision between 0.0 and 100.0 Brix. Precision in Abbe Max is assured by a tightly integrated set of solid-state thermoelectric compensation elements that automatically keep the temperature of the optics and sample at a constant user-defined temperature. This completely eliminates the need to connect the refractometer to an external water bath to maintain a set temperature. Independent temperature control of the light source insures that both the wavelength and the quality of light remain constant throughout the operating range of the instrument. Abbe Max Refractometers are designed to work in a wide range of environmental conditions. The precision optical components are isolated within a completely sealed optical assembly containing an innovative internal air-pressure compensation system. This insures that the optical components remain free of dust and condensation. Performance The comprehensive feature set is both functional and accessible. Since Abbe Max employs the Microsoft Windows Operating System, users familiar with Windows will find interfacing with the instrument both straightforward and intuitive. A brilliant high-resolution graphical screen serves as the main interface between the instrument and the operator. This friendly touch-sensitive device accepts the user's input and displays loads of useful information. Abbe Max Refractometers come standard with scales for reading refractive index and Brix. Additional scales that read directly in a specific unit of measure are available from MISCO. A virtually unlimited number of these scales can be loaded into the instrument’s 32 MB of onboard storage via the USB port on either instrument or from the removable Secure Digital Card on the AMAX20. AMAX Remote Computer Software AMAX Remote is a remote control software application that runs on a Microsoft Windows PC and allows a user to view and interact with the screen of an Abbe Max Digital Laboratory Refractometer. Any actions that you take on the Abbe Max will be mirrored on the PC and visa versa. AMAX Remote is available separately. [MORE INFO]
